Col. Kulwant Singh addressed the audience telling them about the importance of Organ Donation. There are far more people in need of a transplant than there are people willing to donate an organ.

Firstly, Ms. Aakriti Negi of MOHAN Foundation introduced herself to the students and after that she asked the questions from students to check their knowledge about organ donation and transplantation.  This was followed by an introduction and presentation on organ donation and brain death.

In this talk she explained the following points: -

    • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
    • The status of Organ Donation in India and their requirements vs donation rates
    • She challenged 5 myths with 5 facts on Organ Donation
    • Difference between natural death and brain death
    • Age is not a constraint in donating their organs.
    • Real life stories of an organ transplant being shared with the participants and how they became a legacy
    • Importance of Donor card
    • To pledge their organs they can register at Mohan Foundation
    • MOHAN Foundation mission & vision

The awareness talk ended with a vote of thanks by Col. Kulwant Singh. He encouraged the cadets to spread message of organ donation. The entire group got motivated and was an interactive session. All the questions were answered after the presentation and 65 donor cards were picked by the cadets along with the JCO’s.

In the end they showed great interest and would like to do more programs with MOHAN Foundation. Special thanks to Col Kulwant Singh for inviting MOHAN FOUNDATION.
