On 19th April 2023, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Dr. Zahoor Ahmad, Asst. Professor, Department of Psychology to conduct one day workshop for students of Sociology and Psychology departments. Around 250 students and 8 faculty members attended the workshop.
Dr. Zahoor, who has first-hand experience of working as Transplant Co-ordinator at the beginning of his career with Indrapratha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, gave very impressive initiation to the workshop.
1. Awareness Program: Mr. Dewan started the program by giving introduction to the concept of Organ Donation and Organ Transplantation followed by Ms. Neha Sharma giving detailed presentation on Organ Donation. She covered various aspects such as who can donate organs, what organs can be donated after Natural Death, Brain Death and by a Living Person, What is Brain Death and it’s declaration.
2. Transplant Co-ordination: Students were given one hour presentation on the Role and responsibilities of Transplant Co-ordinator, Who can become a Transplant Co-ordinator, Grief Counselling. Students were given details of online Change Maker and Transplant Co-ordinator’s Certificate courses conducted by MOHAN Foundation.
3. Session for Interns: Post Lunch session was for students who has applied for Internship with MOHAN Foundation but over 140 students from both, sociology and psychology departments insisted on attending the session and know more about Internship program.
Mr. Dewan briefed students on various projects that the students would be given during two months of internship and that all students must undergo one day, online Organ Donation Ambassadors program before starting Internship.
Students actively participated with plenty of questions on Organ Donation. In total 390 students participated in the sessions
