MOHAN Foundation conducts Awareness Session for JSS Hospital, Mysore

  • An interactive session on organ donation awareness was organised by MOHAN Foundation for the staff of JSS Hospital, Mysore on 23rd December 2020. The event held at the hospital auditorium was attended by ICU doctors, staff nurses, PG doctors and nurses and lab technicians as well. Dr. Guruswamy (Medical Superintendent), Dr. Ghori (Deputy Medical Superintendent), Dr. Manjunath Shetty (Transplant Surgeon) were also present.

    Ms. Ranjini Shankar, Project Manager and Mr. Marulappa L N, Transplant Coordinator from MOHAN Foundation interacted with the audience and information on the below topics was shared:

    • MOHAN Foundation and its activities
    • Brain Stem Death
    • Circulatory Death
    • Jeevasarthakathe and its role
    • Organ allocation system in Karnataka
    • The burden of organ failure and the need for organ donation
    • Importance of a Donor Card

    A few informative videos were also played; a video of Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram, the Foundation’s Country Director and her husband being awarded the CNN IBN Real Heroes award greatly impressed the audience.

    The talk was followed by an informal interactive session with the students during which information about the courses offered by the Foundation was explained. MOHAN Foundation is thankful to the JSS Hospital for the opportunity.
