

MOHAN Foundation was invited on the occasion of “Basant Panchami “, to conduct an awareness session on Organ Donation at Kunal Hospital, on 15th February 2024. Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation was the speaker. Mrs. Poonam Lohane, nursing in charge coordinated the session Administrative & Nursing staff attended the session.
Mr. Behera gave following information to the audience-
1) What is organ donation and why is it important to donate organs?
2) Who can be an organ donor?
3) Explanation about live and deceased donors
4) Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 1994
5) Role of the MOHAN Foundation
6) What an individual can do to contribute to this noble cause
7) Myths and facts about organ donation
8) Differences between coma and brain death
The following queries were raised by audience-
1)The process of skin donation
2) what is the process of Organ Transplantation?
3)What is body donation and its formalities.
Approximately 35 members were present and 5 of them signed Organ donation pledge form. MOHAN Foundation appreciate the efforts of Mrs. Poonam Lohane to coordinate the session.
