MOHAN Foundation Participates in the 8th Trilogy Camp at Wangkhei Angom Leikai, Community Hall, Manipur

  • On August 14, 2025, MOHAN Foundation participated in the 8th Trilogy Camp on Blood, Eye, and Organ Donation cum Tree Plantation cum Flag Hoisting Ceremony of Ipudhou Pakhangba cum Felicitation of Voluntary Blood Donors & Donor Organizations, held at Wangkhei Angom Leikai, Community Hall, Manipur. The event was jointly organized by the Association of Voluntary Blood Donors, Manipur (AVBD) and Associates. Representing MOHAN Foundation were Ms. Laishram Monica Devi, Project Coordinator (Northeast) cum Project Lead (Manipur); Mr. Bidyananda Laishram, Program Executive (Senior); and Ms. Thaudem Mayarani, Program Executive.

     

    The event was graced by the presence of distinguished dignitaries:

    1. Dr. Narengbam Rajivkumar, President, Democratic People’s Front (DPF) – Chief Guest

    2. Prof. Brogen Singh Akoijam, Department of Community Medicine, RIMS – President of the Programme

    3. Mr. Yambem Premchand, President, Lions Club of Imphal Kangla – Guest of Honour

     

    The programme featured on-the-spot blood donation, information desks on organ, eye, and whole-body donation, as well as a formal felicitation ceremony. In a gesture of respect and appreciation, the dignitaries were felicitated. Ms. Laishram Monica Devi was specially honoured with a Lengyan (traditional shawl) as a token of gratitude.

     

    MOHAN Foundation set up an information and pledge counter, with the camp coordinated by Mr. Kumarjit Singh, Treasurer, AVBD. The Foundation’s team provided detailed insights on organ donation, covering the types of organ donation, the medical definition of brain death, and the importance of family consent. They also interacted with participants, addressed queries, and distributed pamphlets containing Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on organ donation.

     

    The programme concluded with the felicitation of voluntary blood donors and donor organizations. The pledge counter received encouraging participation, with 12 individuals pledging their organs through the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO), marking a meaningful impact. Photographs of the pledgers and group pictures with the organizing committee captured the spirit of the day.

     

    With close to 150 participants in attendance, the event was a grand success, concluding on an inspiring and fruitful note.
