MOHAN Foundation Invited to conduct Awareness Session on Organ Donation for CMR Institute Technology of Engineering College, Bengaluru

  • On 21st February 2024 MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session at CMR Institute Technology of Engineering College for the NSS Students. The session was conducted in association with Prof. Muralidhar (NSS Department) who approached the Bengaluru Team for an awareness session. Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS was the key speaker

    Mrs. Ranjini began the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation, its mission and vision and proceeded to explain the following:

    • The concept of organ and tissue donation
    • The types of death i.e., circulatory death and brain death
    • Brain death declaration, apnoea test and other clinical tests
    • Procedure of deceased and live organ donation
    • Procedures of eye, skin and bone donation
    • Barriers to organ donation
    • Myths and facts related to organ donation
    • Green corridor
    • The role of Jeevasarthakathe
    • Transplant Law
    • Importance of a donor card 

    Around 75 students attended the session and all the students collected the donor cards by taking the pledge for organ donation.

    Mrs. Ranjini was accompanied by Mrs. Sheetal Mundada, Transplant Coordinator and Mr. Surya Prakash the Program Coordinator.
