On November 18, 2025, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation at the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Mantripukhri. The session was facilitated by Mr. Bidyananda Laishram, Senior Program Executive, along with Mr. Victor Rajkumar and Ms. Priya Moirangthem, Program Executives at MOHAN Foundation.
The programme was coordinated by Mr. Kiran, Program Head, AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy), with active support from the staff.
Mr. Bidyananda introduced the concept of organ donation, explained the organs that can be donated, and discussed various types of donation. He clarified the difference between brainstem death and coma, addressed common myths, and emphasized the importance of family consent—encouraging individuals to inform their families after pledging. He also shared an update on the transplantation landscape in Manipur.
In the concluding segment, Ms. Priya guided participants through the procedure for pledging organ donation. Information pamphlets were distributed to reinforce key points.
Nearly 30 individuals, including children, attended the session and gained meaningful insights into the life-saving impact of organ donation.
