MOHAN Foundation Conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation at Sri Guru Gobind Singh Public School Sector-35 Chandigarh

  • On 25th January 2024, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Public School Sector-35 Chandigarh to conduct an awareness talk on Organ Donation for their NSS Students. Approximately 75 students from class 12th attended the session.

    Students were given an introduction on how important is Organ donation and tissue donation and too many people waiting for transplant by Ms. Neha Sharma.

     She explained the following points: -

    • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
    • The status of Organ Donation in India and their requirements vs donation rates
    • She challenged 5 myths with 5 facts on Organ Donation
    • Difference between natural death and brain death
    • Age is not a constraint in donating their organs.
    • Real life stories of an organ transplant being shared with the participants
    • Importance of the Donor card
    • To pledge their organs they can register at MOHAN Foundation
    • MOHAN Foundation’s mission & vision

    A short informative film on brain death was also shown and the importance of family consent in the process of organ donation was explained to the students

    All the students got motivated and convinced to support organ donation.  Students did applaud in the end for the efforts taken by MOHAN Foundation.
