MOHAN Foundation Conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation at Chandigarh University - Kharar Road, Punjab - Session 2

  On 6^th October 2019, MOHAN Foundation was invited by the Chandigarh University to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation for their students. Around 12 students participated in the program.

  Mr. Santosh Kumar Training Supervisor addressed the gathering and gave a brief introduction on organ donation to the participants.

  Firstly, Neha Sharma introduced herself to the students and after that she asked the questions from students to check their knowledge about organ donation and transplantation.

  Participants were given an introduction and presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Neha Sharma.

  In this talk she explained the following points: -

  • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
  • The status of Organ Donation in India and their requirements vs donation rates
  • She challenged 5 myths with 5 facts on Organ Donation
  • Difference between natural death and brain death
  • Age is not a constraint in donating their organs.
  • Real life stories of an organ transplant being shared with the participants
  • Importance of the Donor card
  • To pledge their organs they can register at MOHAN Foundation
  • MOHAN Foundation’s mission & vision

  The entire group got motivated and convinced to support organ donation and they would love to share their wish with their families and sharing the gift of life. All the participants picked up the donor cards. Everyone applauded and she announced to all use MOHAN Foundation website and helpline number to clarify any doubt.
