MOHAN Foundation Conducts Awareness Session at Kshetrigao, UPHC

  • On November 27, 2025, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation at Kshetrigao, Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), Imphal East, Manipur. The session was led by Mr. Bidyananda Laishram, Senior Program Executive, along with Mr. Victor Rajkumar, Program Executive, and Ms. Priya Moirangthem, Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation, Imphal.

     

    Organised as part of the UPHC’s Immunization initiative, the program was coordinated with Mrs. Premlata, Nurse In-Charge, who actively participated in the session.

     

    Mr. Bidyananda Laishram presented the vision and objectives of MOHAN Foundation and led an engaging session on the fundamental principles of organ donation. He explained the Transplantation of Human Organs Act (THOA), 1994, emphasising that the buying and selling of organs is a punishable offence. He highlighted that a single selfless act of organ donation has the potential to save up to eight lives. He also addressed common religious misconceptions related to organ donation, noting that no major religion opposes the practice.

     

    The session concluded with an expression of gratitude to the participants for their time and attention. Information pamphlets on organ donation were distributed. Around 20 participants attended the program, underscoring the importance of awareness and informed decision-making in advancing the organ donation movement.
