  • As a part of our endeavour to bring about awareness in Armed forces and promote Organ Donation, we contacted Maj. Gen. G.S.Cheema , Director General NCC ( Punjab, Haryana & Himachal) and Brig. M.G.Sekaran, Group Commander, Chandigarh. The meeting went very successful and we were invited to start an organ donation campaign on amongst NCC cadets in Chandigarh, Panjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.

The NCC cadets not only be attending the program but also carrying back the message to their respective institutions as volunteers for Organ Donation Program. Each cadet would be given responsibility to talk to 10 more people and report back their response.

We were invited to conduct first such program under NCC Campaign on 3rd September 2015 at NCC camp, Ropar under supervision of Col.Sukhmeet Singh, Group Commander. A mixed group of 500 boys and girls attended and actively interacted during the program. They were well informed on the aspect of Organ Donation and were keen on to learn about brain death, its declaration and organs which can be donated after brain death.

Mr.Sudhir Dewan addressed them on the concept of organ donation and transplantation of human organs and Nilakshi took them through the various aspects and role and responsibilities of MOHAN Foundation.

They had endless queries and questions showing the level of interest generated by our awareness program. These cadets seemed to have a lot of potential as they were full of enthusiasm and positive energy.

We expect 2-3 such programs every month in times to come.
