On April 10, 2026, Mr. Biswajit Debbarma, Ambassador of MOHAN Foundation for Tripura, delivered a talk on organ donation to the parents and staff of ITCT School, Sonacharan, Dinabandhu, West Tripura. Mr. Swapan Debbarma, Principal of ITCT School, welcomed the Ambassador to the school. He was accompanied by Mrs. Nipak Modak, Program Executive at MOHAN Foundation, for the awareness program.
Ms. Nipa, began by introducing MOHAN Foundation to the participants, sharing that the foundation was established in 1997 by Dr. Sunil Shroff, its Founder and Managing Trustee. She highlighted the foundation's extensive operations across various regions in India.
The session was then handed over to Mr. Biswajit, who began by sharing his personal journey with MOHAN Foundation. He explained that he was motivated to become an ambassador after attending a two-day awareness program on organ donation under the theme "Angels of Change" in December 2025 at ILS Hospital, Agartala. Since then, he has been actively organizing awareness programs with the MOHAN Foundation team in Tripura.
His commitment to spreading awareness in Tripura strengthened further through interactions with individuals eager to learn about organ donation and transplantation options for those suffering from organ failure. He urged the audience to extend their support, cooperation, and conversations beyond the school premises, encouraging them to inspire family and friends to support organ donation and make a life-changing difference.
Mr. Debbarma explained key topics such as like brainstem death, organ and tissue donation, organ allocation and the process of obtaining a donor card. He also provided practical guidance on becoming a donor, including scanning the QR code on MOHAN Foundation's website or opting for organ donation while applying for a driving licence.
The session was attended by 28 participants, who were also provided with informational materials on organ donation.
