
On 28th July 2021, World Hepatitis Day, a MFJCF-sponsored programme on organ donation was broadcast on 101.2 AIR at 7pm, aiming to reach the villages of Rajasthan. AIR (All India Radio) has almost 5000 live listeners via their mobile app, and via direct radio it covers 70% area of Rajasthan.
Along with a play on organ donation, Dr. Harsh Udawat, Gastroenterologist from Santokba Durlabhji Memorial Hospital answered some of the frequently asked questions regarding liver donation and transplantation in the local language. Some of the questions that were answered:
1. What is liver donation and transplantation?
2. Who can donate liver?
3. When is liver transplantation done?
4. Difference between live and cadaveric liver transplantation
5. Can someone live a healthy life after donating liver?
Towards the end, Dr. Udawat also informed the listeners to call the 24*7 organ donation helpline number 1800-103-7100 of MOHAN Foundation to know more organ donation and assistance related to it.
