In celebration of Indian Organ Donation Day, "Kodaipanpalai 100.5 FM" extended an invitation to MOHAN Foundation for a live broadcast on August 13, 2023. The guest on the show "Marupirappu tharum uruppu thaangal" (Embrace a New Life) was Ms. Sujatha Suriyamoorthi, Associate Director for Courses at MOHAN Foundation.
The interview addressed the public's inquiries regarding organ donation and transplantation, covering topics like the significance of organ donation, eligibility criteria for organ donors, types of organs suitable for donation from both living and deceased individuals, factors that might prevent organ donation, the process of pledging for organ donation, and the role of the family in facilitating deceased organ donation.
During the broadcast, the program also addressed questions raised by listeners, including topics such as the suitability of a deceased donor with a history of hypertension and diabetes, alcoholism and organ donation, potential risks and complications for living organ donors, life after transplant, the feasibility of donating organs without formal pledging – both from a legal standpoint and otherwise. Furthermore, the interview featured the sharing of MOHAN Foundation's organ donation helpline information.
The show concluded on a positive note, giving hope to patients with end-stage organ failure through life-saving organ transplants.
