On December 14, 2025, MOHAN Foundation conducted three awareness sessions on eye and organ donation at Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Palghar, for students of the university. Approximately 400 participants attended the sessions.
The sessions were conducted by Mr. Nikhil Nagarkar, who explained key aspects of eye and organ donation, including corneal blindness, causes and precautions, eligibility criteria, age limits, and the legal framework governing eye and organ donation. He also addressed common myths and misconceptions related to both forms of donation. The sessions were interactive, with students actively engaging and asking questions regarding the donation process and eligibility.
Ms. Prachiti Mali from MOHAN Foundation was also present and supported the awareness activities. One student pledged for eye donation during the program.
MOHAN Foundation sincerely thanks Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Palghar, for their support and collaboration in creating awareness about eye and organ donation among students. All three sessions were conducted smoothly and received an encouraging response.
