Eye Donation Awareness Session Conducted at Rural Hospital Palghar

  • On April 27, 2026, an eye donation awareness session was successfully conducted at Rural Hospital Palghar with the participation of approximately 60 attendees. The session was facilitated by Mr. Ravi Pawar from MOHAN Foundation with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of eye donation and its life-changing impact on individuals suffering from corneal blindness.

     

    During the session, participants were provided with detailed information about the eye donation process, eligibility criteria for donors, and the importance of timely eye retrieval after death to ensure successful transplantation. The discussion highlighted how a single donor can help restore vision and improve the quality of life for visually impaired individuals.

     

    Common myths and misconceptions related to eye donation were also addressed and clarified with factual explanations to help participants gain a better understanding of the subject. The attendees showed keen interest in the topic and actively engaged in the discussion throughout the session.

     

    As an encouraging outcome of the program, one participant came forward to pledge for eye donation, reflecting the positive impact of the awareness initiative and the growing acceptance of eye donation within the community.
