An eye donation awareness session was conducted on February 23, 2026, at the Primary Health Centre, Kelva Mahim, Palghar, with the objective of educating participants about the importance of eye donation and encouraging them to support this noble cause.
The session provided detailed information on the concept and significance of eye donation, including its role in restoring vision for individuals suffering from corneal blindness. Participants were guided through the eye donation process, including eligibility criteria, necessary precautions, and the steps to be followed at the time of donation.
Common myths and misconceptions related to eye donation were addressed and clarified with factual explanations, helping to enhance awareness and understanding among the attendees. The participants were also encouraged to pledge for eye donation and to spread awareness within their communities.
Approximately 56 individuals attended the session and actively participated in the discussion. As an outcome, 4 participants came forward to pledge for eye donation. The program proved to be informative and impactful, successfully raising awareness and motivating individuals to contribute to this meaningful cause.
