On 30th December 2021, MOHAN Foundation visited the residence of a donor family in Dornala village at Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh to attend a condolence meet and conducted an awareness session.
The organ donor, a 48-year-old male had met with an accident on 13th December 2021, doctors had declared him brain dead on 16th December 2021 at a hospital in Hyderabad. The family consented for organ donation and his kidneys, corneas and skin were utilized.
Mr. K Narayana Reddy, Former MLA of Markapuram and Managing Director of Kondula Obulreddy Hospital, and Mr. Srinivas Reddy, Contractor of Satyam Constructions attended the program and felicitated the donor family.
Around 300 residents of the village and donor’s relatives attended the condolence program. Dr. Bhanu Prakash, Transplant Coordinator explained the concept of brain death and importance of organ donation.
