On February 2, 2013 MOHAN Foundation's team conducted an awareness session on organ donation for the residents of "World Spa", Gurgaon. The session started with Ms. Pallavi introducing the foundation and its work.
The talk focused on concepts of organ donation and transplantation, the law (THO act), brain death and its causes, myths around organ donation and tissue donation. During the course of the session, one participant very enthusiastically shared the experience within her family, where her 15 year old daughter had read about organ donation and not only urged them to pledge their organs but also took a confirmation that her organs should also be donated. Different queries were raised on brain death, within what time can different organs be donated, whom to be contacted and within how many hours of death.
Around 15 residents attended the talk and 10 took organ donor cards.
