On 3rd August 2023, an awareness session on the importance of organ donation was held to educate the general public at OPD in IGGMC. In this session Dr. Munje, Dr Vaishali Shelgaokar, HOD Anaesthesia, Dr Ashok Jadhav, HOD PSM department, Dr Aakre, Dr Anil Jondhale, JR, Interns, and other public were present. Dr Munje has encouraged the public to donate the organs, Dr Vaishali Shelgaokar explained the importance of organ donation and pledging. Then interns went to the people and explained them about organ donation.
After the session, influenced by the speech by Mrs Sumitrabai Patole came in front of everyone and expressed her feelings for pledging then Ms Bhagyashree has explained her about organ donation and pledging and helped her to take the pledge. After seeing her pledging 3 other people Mr Salman Afsar Sayyad, Mr Abdul Mannan, and Mr Bisan Kawale came and expressed their feelings about taking the pledge, Ms Bhagyashree helped them by explaining about organ donation tissue donation and filling out their form. After this junior residents came forward to take pledge. More than 60 people were sensitized.
