  Ms. Arshiya presented stories of Transplant book to trainers

  Don Bosco Vazhikaatti was established in 1997 to create and enable an optimistic learning environment for the poor youth through short term skill building programs. MOHAN Foundation was given an opportunity to create awareness on Organ Donation on October 29, 2022 for around 70 students. 

   

  Ms. Arshiya Fathima. H  (Helpline counselor) was the resource person for the session. Mrs. Sindhu (Center Manager), Mr. Joeal (President of Smart Alumni Club) and Mr. Harish (Trainer) welcomed Ms Arshiya. 

   

  Ms. Arshiya Fathima. H began the session with a quiz based on movies depicting organ donation. She then elaborated on the Concepts of Organ Donation and Transplantation which included who, what and when donation can happen, Brain Death, skin and eye donation, voluntary body donation. It was very interactive session with students. A video explaining Brain death was played. At the end to impish size the value of the Gift of Life a recipient testimonial video was also played. 

   

  The students were eager to pledge and more than 30 students collected their donor cards and did the registration online. The students were interactive throughout the session and they asked many questions

  1. Can people with diabetes can donate the organs? 
  2. Can smokers and alcoholics can donate their organs?
  3. If a 85 years old person’s skin is donated and placed on a child, will it be effective?  
  4. After  a death  at home, how can family members reach eye bank?
  5. Can a recipient  see t the donor family?

   

  All there questions were answered by the speaker.  The session ended with the Vote of thanks by Vice President of Smart Alumni Club Mr. Naveen Kumar  As a gesture of appreciation Ms. Arshiya presented the Stories of Transplant book to Mr. Harish.
