Awareness Session on Organ Donation at HP Company in Bagamane Tech Park, Electronic City, Bengaluru

  • On 7th June 2019, Mr. Sunil from the HP Company invited MOHAN Foundation to organize an awareness programme to the employees at the HP Company in Bagamane Tech Park, Electronic City, Bengaluru.

     

    MOHAN Foundation was represented by Project Manager Ms. Ranjini Shankar. MS & Transplant Co-ordinators Ms. Hemavathi, Mr. B N, Marulappa, Ms. L N, Krishna Priya PS & Ms. Susai Anthony Raj S

     

    The following topics were discussed in detail:

    • Introduction about MOHAN Foundation
    • MOHAN Foundation and its activities
    • Organ Donation
    • Brain Stem Death
    • Circulatory Death
    • Importance of time factor in Organ Transplantation
    • Importance of Ventilator
    • Types of Donors
    • Organs and Tissues that can be donated before and after death
    • Jeevasarthakathe and its role
    • Organ allocation system in Karnataka
    • The burden of organ failure & need for Organ Donation
    • Importance of a Donor Card

     

    During the interaction, the audience raised the following questions:

    • Declaration of Brain Stem Death
    • Living Donation
    • Importance of time factor in organ transplantation
    • Age criteria in organ donation

     

    Around 1200 people attended the programme. After understanding the organ donation facts, a few expressed their wish to pledge for organ donation.
