  • Organ donation is a humanitarian act that can save multiple lives. To promote awareness and educate the public about this important cause, MOHAN Foundation regularly organises awareness stalls and educational sessions.

As part of this effort, an organ donation awareness stall was conducted on 18 March 2026 at Sahid Durga Soren Park, Lowadih, Ranchi, to sensitise the general public about the importance of organ donation. A total of 12 people attended the session.

The main objectives of the programme were to educate people about organ and tissue donation, spread correct information about brain death and cardiac death, inform participants about the organs and tissues suitable for donation, address myths and misconceptions, and encourage community participation in organ donation awareness.

The awareness stall was conducted by Mr. Mukesh Kumar Singh. During the session, he explained various aspects of organ and tissue donation, including eligibility criteria, types of donation, and the legal framework governing organ donation in India. Participants were also informed about how one donor can save multiple lives. The discussion further focused on eye donation and organ donation after cardiac death.

The session was interactive, and participants showed curiosity and actively engaged in the discussion. Some of the questions raised by the participants included, “Who can donate eyes?” and “Which organs can be donated after cardiac death?” All the questions were answered with proper examples and simple explanations.

The awareness activity helped create awareness about eye donation, addressed misconceptions related to organ donation, and encouraged meaningful interaction with the general public. Participants appreciated the initiative and showed interest in supporting the cause.

MOHAN Foundation expresses its heartfelt thanks to Sahid Durga Soren Park, Lowadih, Ranchi, for providing the opportunity to conduct this awareness activity and for supporting the noble cause of organ donation. The programme was successfully conducted with meaningful participation and interaction. Such community outreach initiatives play a significant role in building awareness and encouraging people to support organ donation.
