Awareness Session on Eye Donation Conducted at Dhawale Trust Hospital Camp

  • On November 17, 2025, an awareness session on eye donation was conducted for the employees and staff of Dhawale Trust Hospital Camp. MOHAN Foundation’s representative, Ms. Prachiti Mali, was invited as the resource person for the session. She explained the key concepts of eye donation, including corneal blindness, its causes, the precautions involved, and the age-related criteria for corneal donation. The session also covered important legal aspects surrounding eye donation, along with clarifying commonly held myths and misconceptions.

    A total of 75 employees and staff attended the session, and one participant pledged to donate their eyes. One of the queries raised during the interaction was, “Where is your cornea?” Ms. Prachiti explained the structure and function of the cornea and its vital role in vision.
