On June 19, 2026, MOHAN Foundation organized an awareness program on organ and tissue donation for auto rickshaw drivers at the RTO Borivali Auto Rickshaw Passing Track in Aarey Colony, Mumbai.
The session, led by Mr. Nikhil Nagarkar, aimed to enhance understanding of the life-saving benefits of organ and tissue donation among members of the working-class community. During the program, participants were educated on the demand for organ donors in India, the significance of eye and tissue donation, donor eligibility requirements, and the role of families in honoring a donor's wishes. Through interactive discussions and real-life examples, misconceptions were addressed, and attendees were encouraged to perceive donation as a meaningful way to create a lasting impact.
The initiative effectively engaged a large community group, fostering informed dialogues on organ and tissue donation. Attendees expressed interest in further educating themselves on the topic and were motivated to share the knowledge with their families, colleagues, and passengers, thereby expanding the reach of the awareness campaign.
