On July 6, 2026, MOHAN Foundation organized an awareness program on organ donation and transplantation at Agartala Government Medical College & Govind Ballabh Pant (AGMC & GBP) Hospital, Kunjaban, Agartala, West Tripura. The session was conducted in the Cardiology Outpatient Department (OPD) as part of the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to promote awareness about organ donation and transplantation among the general public.
Ms. Nipa Modak, Program executive for Tripura, represented MOHAN Foundation and conducted the session. She spoke about the significance of organ donation, the different types of organs and tissue donation, and how a single donor has the potential to save multiple lives. She also addressed common myths and misconceptions associated with organ donation and encouraged the participants to support the cause and spread awareness within their families and communities.
The session was interactive, with participants actively engaging in the discussion by asking questions and clarifying their doubts regarding organ donation and transplantation. Informational materials on organ donation were distributed to reinforce the key messages shared during the session.
A total of 19 participants attended the awareness program. The session was well received and helped enhance awareness and foster a positive attitude towards organ donation by emphasizing that one donor has the potential to save multiple lives through the gift of organ donation.
