On April 26, 2026, MOHAN Foundation, Ranchi, conducted an organ donation awareness stall at Raj hospital, Ranchi to sensitise patient attenders about the importance of organ donation.
The stall was facilitated by Mr. Mukesh Kumar Singh, who explained various aspects of organ and tissue donation, including brain death, cardiac death, eligibility, procedures, and the legal framework related to donation.
Special emphasis was given to living organ donation, particularly how living donors can help save lives through kidney and liver donation. A total of 40 patient attenders participated in the activity and engaged actively in the discussion. One of the queries raised during the session was what is brain death and which organs a living donor can donate, and it was answered with clear explanations and practical examples, explaining that brain death is the irreversible loss of all brain functions and is legally recognized as death, and that a living donor can donate a kidney and a part of the liver. The awareness stall was informative and interactive, helping to build understanding, trust, and a positive attitude towards organ donation. MOHAN Foundation expresses its sincere appreciation to Raj hospital, Ranchi for their valuable support and coordination in successfully conducting this initiative
