  • On November 26, 2025, MOHAN Foundation, Tripura, conducted an awareness program on organ donation at Fatikcherra, West Tripura, to educate the local community about the significance of organ donation and encourage individuals to pledge for the noble cause. The session aimed to address common misconceptions, promote both deceased and living organ donation, and strengthen public participation in the organ donation movement in the state.

MOHAN Foundation was represented by Ms. Nipa Modak (Program Executive).

The program highlighted the growing need for organ donation in India and explained how a single donor can save up to eight lives and improve many more through tissue donation. Key topics covered during the session included brain death, the organ retrieval process, legal and ethical aspects of organ donation, and the role of grief counselling in supporting families during emotionally challenging times.

Participants were also informed about the organ donation initiatives launched in Tripura since 2025 through the collaboration between MOHAN Foundation and the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO), Tripura. The team shared ongoing updates on living donor kidney transplant efforts at Agartala Government Medical College & Govind Ballabh Pant (AGMC & GBP) Hospital, emphasising the importance of community awareness in building a strong organ donation framework in the state.

The session saw enthusiastic participation from local residents, who actively engaged and clarified their queries. Information brochures were distributed, and attendees were encouraged to register themselves as organ donors.

The program concluded with a call for collective responsibility to save lives through organ donation, along with gratitude to the community of Fatikcherra for their warm response and support. A total of 14 participants attended the program.
