On, 19th May, 2015 MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session for the students of GMSSSS-32 Chandigarh; under the Student Awareness Campaign in which all the government school of Chandigarh will be covered .The awareness session was conducted for the students of 12th standard. In which around 150 students participated. The principal Darshanjit Singh and the Vice principal Mr.Arun really supports the cause and showed their wish to do such sessions in future also.
The students were from the medical and non-medical stream of the higher secondary class and were given a presentation on Organ donation, the phenomenon of Brain Death, skin donation and the importance of cadaveric Organ donation by the Program Coordinator Nilakshi. It was an interactive session in which all the students asked very relevant questions like how do we keep the organs after retrieval and how is the matching of the organs are done?
Students were asked to read more about Organ Donation and asked to subscribe to the Facebook page as well, to stay well informed about the activities of the organisation. At the end, they were shown an organ Donor card and the information brochures were also picked by those, who really wants to read more about it.
