  • On 19th August, 2013 an information desk on organ donation was set up at the conference room of Bajaj Bhawan, Noida. The desk was manned by Mr. Amit Kumar, Program Manager, MOHAN Foundation, Delhi-NCR.

The Bajaj Group was founded by Jamnalal Bajaj; freedom fighter, philanthropist and close confidante of Mahatma Gandhi. It is one of the most respected and renowned business houses in India.

The desk was set up for a course of two hours. There was one on one interaction with the employees who visited the desk. The main points that were highlighted through the interaction were: what is organ donation, why is it important to pledge for organ donation, what organs and tissues can be donated and the importance of pledging your organs by signing the donor card. Few of the doubts raised by the employees were: about organ allocation; about remuneration to donor families; about contraindications for donating organs and tissues and about the absence of a National registry in India.

Mr. Anil Garg, Manager, System Application Product-HR & IT, was the person who initiated this awareness drive and he encouraged employees from his Department to come visit the stall. Further, he expressed interest in organizing an awareness session at the office.
