  MOHAN Foundation was invited by Dr. D. T. Powar. Regional Transport Officer, Nagpur to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving License on 19 January 2016.

  Mr. Bulu Behera delivered a talk on Organ donation. In his talk he explained the following points:

  • Importance and need of Organ donation
  • Types of donations –Live and deceased donation
  • Difference between Natural death, Coma and Brain Death
  • THO Act and myths related to Organ donation
  • Eye donation, skin donation & whole body donation
  • Importance of donor card, helpline number and website
  • Importance of Organ transplant Act & Role of ZTCC in Nagpur

  It was a very interactive session. Approximately 60 drivers were present during the talk. 15 drivers take consent form they will discuss with their family members then sign consent form.

  How many days taken for liver to regenerate?

  Can lungs regenerate in the body?

  Whom to contact for Eye donation?
