Dr. D. T. Powar, Regional Transport Officer, Giripeth, Nagpur invited MOHAN Foundation to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for drivers who apply for vehicles registration and driving license on 18 October 2016.
The session was conducted in the waiting area and was done by Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation. In his talk he explained the what, who, when, why and how of brain death and organ donation. He also spoke of the Law and the transplant services available in Nagpur. He quoted examples of donors to motivate the drivers.
It was a very interactive session. Approximately 32 drivers were present during the talk. 3 drivers signed consent form and took a donor card.
