‘Learn while waiting’ at Superspeciality Hospital, Nagpur.

  • On 23th December 2016, Superspeciality Hospital, Nagpur, invited MOHAN Foundation to speak about organ donation to the outpatients. Dr. Shrigiriwar   arranged the stall where MOHAN Foundation displayed information brochures, donor cards, standees and a banner.   Mr. Bulu Behera & Ms. Kanchan Shewde Transplant coordinators managed the stall.

     Information given to outpatients:

     Types of deaths

    What can be donated after Brain Death, after Natural Death and while living.

    How and where is waitlist of organ recipient?

    Who can donate organs and value of a donor card

    22 patients visited the stall. After understanding about organ donation, 11 patients took consent form & 3 patients signed consent form and took donor card, other will sign consent form after discussing with their family.

     

    Questions asked by visitors.

    1) What is bone marrow why it is required?

    2) Can a living person donate liver?
