A village in outskirts of Chennai comes forward in support of Organ Donation

  • MOHAN Foundation was invited for an awareness program on Organ Donation on 09th August 2017 at Ayyapakkam Village by the NSS wing of Nursing College of Madras Medical Mission. The program was for the residents of the village. Every year the nursing students conduct some social awareness, this year they have selected organ donation. Dr. Hemal Kanvinde and Mr. Siva Shankar represented MOHAN Foundation.

    The program started by issuing the green ribbons to the audience and playing video about the need for Organ Donation in the present time.  Mr. Siva Shankar started the presentation explaining the concepts of Organ donation. The concept had a full explanation on what, when, why and by whom the organs can be donated. He explained in detail about the difference between Brain Death and Coma.

    The program ended with game called “CONNECTIONS” with the nursing students. The nursing students enjoyed the game. The 28 people took up their donor cards to show their willingness and support for Organ Donation.
