Donor Memorial

  • Mr. Subhash Chand  Khurana- 72 Years

    On January 17, 2026, at approximately 1040 hours, Mr. Sanchit Arora, Project Leader at MOHAN Foundation (AIIMS Rishikesh), received information regarding a potential eye donation from Mr. Deepak Sondhi, a neighbour of the deceased, Mr. Subhash Chand Khurana (72 years). Mr. Khurana had passed away due to cardiac arrest at his residence in Rishikesh at around 0815 hours the same morning. The family expressed their willingness to donate his corneas.

    Mr. Sanchit promptly obtained the contact details of a close family member and spoke with Mr. Vikas Khurana, son of the deceased. He counselled the family regarding the complete eye donation process, after which they reaffirmed their decision to proceed. He immediately coordinated with Mr. Mahipal Chouhan, Eye Bank Manager, Rishikesh Eye Bank, AIIMS Rishikesh, and deputed Mr. Sandeep, Eye Bank Technician and Counsellor, for cornea retrieval. The retrieval was successfully completed at 1135 hours on January 17, 2026.

    Through this generous act, Mr. Subhash Chand Khurana gifted the gift of sight to two individuals. MOHAN Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to the family of Mr. Subhash Chand Khurana for their noble gesture, and to Rishikesh Eye Bank, AIIMS Rishikesh, for their prompt coordination and support.
