Staff of Western Coal Limited learn about organ donation from MOHAN Foundation

  • On 7th May 2014 MOHAN Foundation Nagpur centre was invited by Dr. Khushi Moitra, medical officer of Western Coal Limited (W.C.L) Nagpur region to give a talk on deceased organ donation.  The event was held at the Cultural Hall Jaripatka, Nagpur

     

    Dr. Ravi Wankhede Director of the MOHAN Foundation conducted that talk. With the help of a powerpoint presentation he explained the concepts of Organ Donation. He highlighted that organs and tissues can be donated after brain death, natural death, live donation and concept of brain death.  He explained that after brain death it is impossible to come back his life & if the brain death patient’s family wants to donate organs then they can help several people.

     

    After explaining about the concepts he shared about the activities of MOHAN Foundation as well as helpline number. He requested all to visit the MOHAN Foundation Website. 40 WCL employees participated in that program. They wanted to discuss with their families before signing the pledge form.  

     

    Some question asked by the participant as given below.

    1. What are the criteria for organ recipient?
    2. What is the surety for transparency of organ  allocation?
    3. What is the process for body donation?
    4. Diabetes patient can donate eyes & skin?

     

    At the end of the session, Dr. Khusi Moitra gave a vote of thanks to Dr. Ravi Wankhede as well as participants from W.C.L.
