On 7th Jan 2020, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Shree Hospital Chembur for giving awareness about the Oran Donation to their Shree Hospital staff. Mr Nitin Tambe represent MOHAN Foundation for giving awareness.
Mr. Nitin held an awareness and introduced MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision. He is introduced the concept of Organ and tissue Donation. He also explains the type of death viz. Cardiac and Brain Death and the Organ and tissue that can be donated. He also described the tissue donation (Skin & Cornea) can happen even at home which caught attention of the staff. He explained about Brain death identification tests like Apnea tests which has to be performed at the interval of 6 hrs. He also explained about the authorities & doctors who can do Brain death Certification. He then discussed about the number of Organ Donations that can happen in a case of Brain Death case and number of lives that can be saved. He then addressed about the myths about Organ Donation public has & how we can debunk them by illustrating the real facts about Organ Donation. Also they were invited to join in our volunteering program. Details of Organ Donation Helpline No. 18001037100 was also shared.
Total 10 staff attended the awareness session. 4 pledges were taken & few filled form online. We thank Dr Ajay and Mrs Shobha Sister for inviting us and supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
