

On January 20, 2024, the MOHAN Foundation, led by Transplant Coordinator Mr. Bulu J. Behera, set up an organ donation stall at Lata Mangeshkar Hospital and Medical College, Digdoh, Hingna Road, Nagpur. The stall was organized to raise awareness about organ and tissue donation among patients and their relatives.
The program focused on key topics related to organ donation, including the concepts of brain death and cardiac death. It provided information on which organs and tissues can be donated, the legal frameworks governing organ donation, and addressed common myths. Additionally, details about the Organ Transplant Act of 1994 and hand transplantation were shared with visitors.
Approximately 34 patients and relatives visited the stall, and 7 of them expressed their willingness to donate organs by signing a pledge form. Visitors engaged actively with the stall, asking insightful questions such as:
