  • On December 11, 2025, the MOHAN Foundation, in association with the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Porompat, conducted an organ donation awareness talk at the Medicine Out Patient Department (OPD). The session was conducted by Ms Moirangthem Priya Devi, Program Executive, and Mr Victor Rajkumar, Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation, Imphal, accompanied her.

The programme commenced with Ms Priya explaining the role of the MOHAN Foundation and highlighting the organisation’s activities at both the national level and within the region. She then introduced the concept of organ donation and transplantation, outlining the two types of donation—living and deceased—and clearly explaining the differences between them.

Addressing common myths and misconceptions, Ms Priya emphasised that no religion opposes organ donation. She noted that rather than the body being disposed of through cremation or burial, organ donation has the potential to save and enhance lives.

Towards the end of the session, the organ donation pledge process was explained to the attendees. Informational pamphlets on organ donation were distributed, and the session saw active participation from the audience.

Approximately 25 participants attended the programme and remained engaged throughout the session.
