  MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mr. Powar, RTO officer, Nagpur branch on 22 December, 2015, to conduct an awareness session on organ donation in their premises. It was for drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving license

  Mr. Bulu Behera delivered a talk on Organ donation. In his talk he explained the following points -

  • Importance and need of Organ donation:
  • Types of donations –Live and deceased donation
  • Difference between Natural death, Coma and Brain Death.
  • THO Act and myths related to Organ donation
  • Eye donation, skin donation & whole body donation
  • Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website.

  It was a very interactive session. 30 drivers were present during the talk. The drivers asked the following questions:-

  If any person dies because of accident, which organ & tissue can be donated?

  Whom to contact for eye donation & how much time will be taken?

  Who is main person to sign consent form?
