MOHAN Foundation Hyderabad was invited by Mrs. Priyadarshini of Savitri Bai Phule Foundation and Mr. Venkata Narayana, Principal, to conduct an awareness session for their students and faculty members at Sharada ITI College, Repalle, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh on January 09, 2015, on organ donation.
There were about 250 students and 50 faculty members that have actively participated in the event and all the students and faculty members were distributed donor cards and family donor cards, information brochures and activity reports of MOHAN Foundation.
Ms. Shanti of MOHAN Foundation spoke about the importance of deceased organ donation, religious and cultural barriers involved with organ donation & eye donation, benefits of transplantation, T.H.O 1994 Act, concept of brain death and myths surrounding organ donation.
We thank Mrs. Priyadarshini, the Principal and the faculty of Sharada ITI College for helping us in organizing this event to promote organ donation. We also thank all the students for their active participation and hope that this event has ignited their young minds on organ donation.
As a part of our new program Public Awareness of Rural India (PARI), we welcome many more invitations from rural areas to conduct such events.
