MOHAN Foundation Conducts Awareness Talk on Organ Donation for NCC Cadets & JCO’s at NCC Academy, Ropar, Punjab

  • On 17th October 2019, MOHAN Foundation was invited by the Commandant, Col Navjot Kang to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation for their NCC Cadets. Around 500 Cadets from various colleges of Punjab and officers participated in the program.

    Col. Navjot Kang addressed the audience telling them about how important is Organ Donation and it provides the opportunity to improve the quality of life and saving lives of others. It is the greatest gift one can ever give.

    Participants were given an introduction and presentation on organ donation and brain death by Ms. Neha Sharma.

    In this talk she explained the following points: -

    • Organ donation types and who can be a donor
    • The status of Organ Donation in India and their requirements vs donation rates
    • She challenged 5 myths with 5 facts on Organ Donation
    • Difference between natural death and brain death
    • Age is not a constraint in donating their organs.
    • Real life stories of an organ transplant being shared with the participants and how they became a legacy
    • Importance of Donor card
    • To pledge their organs they can register at MOHAN Foundation
    • MOHAN Foundation mission & vision

    The entire audience got motivated and was an interactive session with the Cadets. The awareness talk ended with a vote of thanks by Col. Navjot Kang. He encouraged the Cadets to aware and spread message of organ donation. Also share their wish with their families.
