On January 7, 2025, the MOHAN Foundation, led by transplant coordinator Mr. Bulu J Behera, organized an information desk at Super Specialist Hospital near Tukdoji Square, Nagpur. Located near the Kidney Patient OPD, the desk aimed to educate patients and their families about kidney transplantation and organ donation.
Mr. Behera provided comprehensive information on various aspects of the transplant process, including legal documentation, the concept of organ donation, age limits, time considerations, and donor cards. Visitors were also introduced to the MOHAN Foundation’s training programs and were encouraged to watch the movie "Aye Zindagi" to enhance awareness.
The desk covered advanced topics in transplantation, such as hand, leg, and skin transplants, along with the legal dimensions of organ transplantation. The visitors actively participated, asking many insightful questions.
As a result of the event, 6 people pledged for organ donation on-site, while others expressed interest in completing the process online. In total, 44 people visited the desk, showing strong interest in the cause. This initiative was made possible with the support and approval of Dr. Sushama Thakare, who assisted in setting up the information desk at the hospital.
