Empowering Minds Today to Save Lives Tomorrow: Organ Donation Awareness Session at Alfa Cotec Industries, Binola, Haryana

  • On December 19, 2025, MOHAN Foundation conducted an organ donation awareness session for the management staff of Alfa Cotec Industries, Binola, Haryana. The session was organized by Mr. Anuj Nagpal, CII Chapter Lead, Gurugram. Ms. Simran Anand, Programme Officer, NCR, MOHAN Foundation, was the resource person, accompanied by Mr. Sajan Jaiswal, MOHAN Foundation Intern. The session was coordinated at the venue by Mr. Anoop Gupta, Managing Director, Alfa Cotec Industries.

     

    Mr. Anoop Gupta formally welcomed the participants and introduced Ms. Simran Anand, following which she led the session on organ donation. She began by assessing the participants’ existing knowledge and addressing common misconceptions. This was followed by an explanation of the fundamentals of organ donation using a PowerPoint presentation, along with a short film explaining the concept of brain death.

     

    The session covered key aspects of organ donation, including its significance in society, the processes and timing involved, organs that can be donated during life and after death, the transplant waiting list scenario in India, the difference between brain death and coma, the role of MOHAN Foundation, common myths and facts related to organ donation, eye donation, and the importance of family consent.

     

    The discussion was highly interactive, with participants actively sharing their thoughts and personal experiences. Some spoke about organ donation and transplantation cases within their families, including one participant who shared his uncle’s cousin’s kidney transplant journey.

     

    Participants also raised several questions during the session, particularly regarding the difference between coma and brain death, which country leads globally in living organ donation, and how pledging with NOTTO differs from registering with other organizations.

     

    At the conclusion of the session, Mr. Anoop Gupta and the staff expressed their appreciation to Ms. Simran Anand for delivering an informative and engaging session.

     

    Approximately 35 participants attended the programme.
