MOHAN foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation for drivers in the training hall of the RTO, Giripet on 4 May 2018. Mr. Sharad Jighkar, Regional Transport Officer, Giripeth, Nagpur wanted the drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving license to understand the concepts of this noble cause.
Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant coordinator, MOHAN Foundation delivered a talk on Organ Donation. In his talk he explained for following points:
v What, why, when and how of Organ Donation
v The Law on transplant in India
v Difference between Brain Death, Natural Death and Coma.
v Myths related to Organ donation.
v Stories of brave families and donors from Nagpur
v Transplant hospital in Nagpur.
v Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website.
It was a very interactive session. 40 drivers were present at the talk and 3 drivers signed consent form and took donor cards.
