On 7th August, 2013 an awareness session on organ donation was organised by the Department of Youth Services, Andhra Pardesh at Mandal Parishad Development Office (MPDO), Kollapur Mandal, Mahaboob Nagar district, Andhra Pradesh. The talk was attended by intermediate and degree students.
The Department of Youth Services intended to organise a series of sessions during the month of August and September to increase awareness about organ donation across the district. This programme was also initiated by them and organised in collaboration with MOHAN Foundation, Hyderabad.
Dr. Bhanu Chandra, MOHAN Foundation, Hyderabad conducted the session. In his talk he spoke about organ donation and brain death to the students and the government officials who were present. Around 200 participants attended the session. Donor cards and brochures were distributed at the event.
