Ambassador Neal Dastoor being honoured by the Lions Club of Juhu
On 22nd December 2024, Neal Dastoor, in grade 12 at Jamnabai Narsee School, Ambassador, MOHAN Foundation, conducted an awareness session for the members of the Lions Club of Juhu, Mumbai.Neal conducted a PowerPoint and video presentation. The presentation started with an introduction video of MOHAN Foundation. As the members were familiar with the basic concepts of organ donation, the focus of the presentation was on:
- The poor statistics of organ donation in India compared to other countries
- Clarifying myths and facts
- Difference between cardiac and brain death, and what can be donated
- Timeframe and procedure to donate tissues after cardiac death
- Recipient video
- How to take a pledge
- Importance of communication with family about intent to donate organs
- Efforts of MOHAN Foundation
To conclude, Neal gave a vote of thanks and appealed to the members to consider the 'Gift of Life' this Christmas. Close to 100 participants attended the session and the presentation was very well received.
