On 22nd September, 2013 an awareness talk on organ donation was organised at St. Thomas Marthoma Church, Marathahalli, Bengaluru. The session was organised by Mr. Pramod Korah Grace David, a member of the parish in order to create awareness on the issue. The session was conducted by Ms. Smeja Paul, Project Manager, MOHAN Foundation, Bengaluru. She addressed the audience who had gathered for their Sunday mass.
Reverend Doc Moni Mathew and 150 members of the parish attended the talk. Ms. Paul in her talk focussed on the following topics: about organ and tissue donation after death, legal aspects of organ donation and about the importance of consent by family to donate organs. She also emphasised on the importance of pledging ones organs and about discussing their wish with their loved ones. The talk was well received and 60 donor cards were picked up.
After the talk on organ donation, Rev. Mathew addressed the gathering.
