Internships

MOHAN Foundation is seeking interns to assist us in several departments.

Given below are descriptions of specific internship opportunities and information on how to apply to each.

Successful applicants for all positions will be motivated, responsible, and self-starters, able to work with minimum direction. Applicants should be interested in public health, health communications and has a good grasp of Indian health scenario.

Interns will work closely with our staff at Chennai and Hyderabad, including some of the Resource Centers spread across the country. All interns will also be asked to support the administrative functions of the organization. This may include arranging and supporting meetings, assisting with correspondence, updating the contact database, and overseeing production and mailing of our public education materials.

Individuals who are flexible and are willing learners with a positive bent of mind are encouraged to apply. On our side, we assure you of a life time experience.

Time and Compensation: We prefer full time interns, though a part-time arrangement may be possible. There is a minimum commitment of 36 to 40 hours per week for 2 to 6 months. Hours can be flexible. As we survive on limited resources, interns will be paid a stipend towards food expenses depending on their commitments. Interns for shorter term will not get any compensation. Accommodation and local conveyance expenses will need to be borne by the interns.

Communications Intern

POSITION SUMMARY
MOHAN Foundation is urgently seeking a communications intern to assist with a range of communications projects. Recent graduates with a degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or related field are encouraged to apply. Advanced undergraduate students are also encouraged to apply. Depending on skills and interests, intern projects may include:
  • Maintaining and expanding the media library.
  • Assisting with website maintenance, monthly newsletters, and media outreach.
  • Helping develop donor relationship.
  • Writing and editing reports and project summaries.
  • Planning special events.
  • Managing social media.
  • Supporting planning and coordinating of direct mail and annual appeal campaigns.

Fundraising Intern

POSITION SUMMARY
MOHAN Foundation is urgently seeking an intern to assist with a range of fundraising activities. Recent graduates with a degree in communications, journalism, public relations, social sciences or related fields are encouraged to apply. Advanced undergraduate students are also encouraged to apply. Depending on skills and interests, intern projects may include:
  • Assisting with the preparation and submission of proposals, grant reports, and thank you letters;
  • Helping to plan and organize special events;
  • Participating in our mid-year and annual appeal campaigns;
  • Helping to maintain donor relationships;
  • Assisting with the maintenance and improvement of our grants and contacts database
  • Researching and targeting individual and foundation donor prospects.
