On 24th October 2016, MOHAN Foundation was requested by Infosys to give a talk on organ donation. This was for their staff in their office in Mahidra City Campus, Chengalpet. Mr. Sundararaj of Infosys was instrumental in getting all the formalities done and Dr. Hemal Kanvinde of MOHAN Foundation was deputed to conduct the session.
70 employees of Infosys attended the talk. Dr. Hemal began by a Q&A session to engage the knowledge of the staff. Nearly 20% of them were blood donors. She then explained the what, when, why and how of organ donation. She showed a motivational clip to drive home the point of value of organ donation. She explained brain death. Most of the discussion was on sanctity of the body, how to explain to parents, why is family so important in organ donation and the donor registry.
All the employees picked a donor card. They also asked for a session in the morning when another shift comes to work.
